The adrenalin high that you have after completing a 3 mile run at sunrise with your personal best time keeps you motivated and confident throughout the day.
Weekly leadership labs teach Cadets necessary skills to become proficient Soldiers. These labs also give Cadets the chance to take on leadership roles in order to prepare them for the their future rolls as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army, Army Reserves, or the National Guard.

The West Virginia University ROTC Battalion has been proud to help develop the leaders of tomorrow.

Ranger Challenge

Ranger Challenge is a physical and mental test including events such as the obstacle course, grenade assault course, land navigation, first aid, tactics lands, and several foot marches. The training is grueling in the early hours of the morning and only the best are selected to compete in the annual event. WVU has taken the honors of 1st place 2004-2006 and 2nd place in 2007, competing against 19 other schools.



Scabbard and Blade

Established in 1916, the Scabbard and Blade is the National ROTC Honor Society and was developed to enhance better military-civilian relationships, encourage potential officers, and spread information concerning military requirements. 



Pershing Rifle Drill Team

The Pershing Rifle Drill Team members demonstrate precision rifle movements and are an elite group of Cadets, who are actively involved in community activities and special events proud to show their unique skills.
