LTC Keith J. McVeigh

Professor of Military Science

LTC Keith J. McVeigh, Professor of Military Science, is a native of Tampa, FL and has a combined 23 years of enlisted and commissioned service in the U.S. Army and Navy.  He received his commission and Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology from Florida Southern College, where he was a Distinguished Military Graduate, and his Masters of Logistics from Florida Institute of Technology.  LTC McVeigh has held numerous leadership positions from the Strategic through Tactical operations levels.  His awards and decorations include 2 Bronze Stars, 2 Meritorious Service Medals, 4 Army Commendation Medals, the Nato Medal (Bosnia), numerous Navy medals and the Parachutist Badge.  LTC McVeigh is married to the former Heide Rathbun and they have three children; Hunter, Kara and Carson.








MAJ Richard R. Shuck

Assistant Professor of Military Science / Executive Officer

MAJ Richard R. Shuck entered the military in 1988 as an enlisted soldier and began his career as a fire team member and M60 machine gunner.  In 1992 MAJ Shuck graduated from Weber State University with a B.S. in Criminal Justice and shortly thereafter became a police officer in Greensboro NC, where he was a member of the Tactical Division.  MAJ Shuck joined the North Carolina NG in 1993 and later attended Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning GA in 1995.  MAJ Shuck holds three branches, Infantry, Chemical and Quartermaster and is currently an AGR soldier in the Utah Army National Guard.  MAJ Shuck participated in Operation Desert Storm in 2002 and invaded Iraq with the 5th Special Forces in 2003.  MAJ Shuck then deployed to Afghanistan in 2003 with 1st Battalion 19th Special Forces for a year as well.  MAJ Shuck has held various leadership positions over his 20 plus years of service and most recently came from the 115th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade at Camp Williams Utah.








COL Douglas J. Telleson

Assistant Professor of Military Science / Operations Officer

Colonel Douglas J. Telleson is a native of Roy, Utah.  He has over 30 years of experience in the United States Army.  He received his commission and Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from Weber State.

Colonel Telleson has commanded at every level from Special Forces A Detachment to Battalion Command and has served in Bosnia, Afghanistan and Iraq.  Colonel Telleson’s awards and decorations include Defense Meritorious Service Medal, two Army Meritorious Service Medals, Joint Commendation Medal, four Army Commendation Medals, Global War on Terror Expeditionary Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, three Army Achievement Medals, Combat Infantry Badge, Special Forces Tab, Master Parachutist Badge and the Military Free Fall Badge.  Colonel Telleson is married to the former Elizabeth Scott of Beaumont, Texas and they have six children.








MAJ N. Peter Walton

Assistant Professor of Military Science / MS II Instructor

Assistant Professor of Military Science/MS II Instructor MAJ Walton is a native of Riverside, CT and a graduate of University of Massachusetts. He commissioned Field Artillery and graduated with a BS in Economics. He has severed in Desert Shield/Storm with the 2nd ACR in Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Kuwait, Operation Enduring Freedom with the Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force (CJSOTF) Baghram, Afghanistan, and Operation Iraqi Freedom as part of a Transition Team with the Iraqi Special Forces and as the J6 for the Iraqi National Counter Terror Force Transition Team.  Military schooling includes the Field Artillery Officer Basic Course, Advance Course, Combined Arms, Signal Officers Captains Career Course, the Information Management Course, and Airborne School. Awards include the JCOM, the JSAM, ARCOM with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, AAM with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Iraq Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Medal, the National Defense Service Medal with an oak leaf cluster, the Kuwait Liberation Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with three stars, the Saudi Arabia Desert Storm Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Combat Action Badge, and Parachutist Badge.

MAJ Walton is married to the former Ms. Paige Walter of Newnan, Georgia.








CPT Steven DiTomaso

Assistant Professor of Military Science / Operations Officer

CPT Steven DiTomaso is a native of Boston, MA and a graduate of University of Oklahoma with a MA in HR and a BS in Business.  He was an enlisted mechanic became a Warrant Officer Aviator flying the Apache Longbow and commissioned as the same.  CPT DiTomaso has served in Korea and Germany as well as other stateside assignments.  He is a graduate of Warrant Officer Candidate School, Warrant Officer Flight Training, Officer Candidate School, Aviation Officer Basic, FI Captains Career Course.  Awards include the ARCOM with 3 OLCs, AAM with 3 OLCs, NDSM with bronze star and the Army Good Conduct Medal. 

CPT DiTomaso is married to the former Ms. Michelle Ramiller of Monmouth, Maine.  They currently have one daughter Zoe Marie. 








COL Jeffery Suart

Recruiting Operations Officer (ROO)

COL Stuart received his commission from Weber State University in 1980 and graduated with his BS degree in Communications in 1982. He received his MA in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix in 1997. COL Stuart spent over 20 years in the 19th SFG(A) having served as ODA commander, Company Commander, GRP S-3, GRP S-1, Group Executive / Administrative officer, and Deputy Commander. He has deployed to 23 different countries around the world on various operations and TDY’s. COL Stuart won the National Guard national championships in 1986 and later skied in the 1988 and 1992 Olympic trials for Biathlon and at 4 World Military Championships in Chamonix France, Rupholding Germany, Candancheu Spain, and the United States. He has completed Special Forces Qualifications course, Special Operations Planning course, Officer in Charge course, Airborne school and is Master Parachutist qualified. He is currently married to Kathryn Stuart and they have 3 children.








MAJ Ammon S. Campbell

Assistant Recruiting Operations Officer

MAJ Ammon S. Campbell graduated from Brigham Young University in 1997 and was commissioned in the Field Artillery.  His civilian education includes a BS in Psychology from BYU, a MA in Management from Webster University and a MS in Counseling and Leader Development, from Long Island University.  He is also a Nationally Certified Counselor.  He was assigned at Fort Wainwright Alaska as a Fire Support Officer, Targeting Officer, a Cavalry Troop FSO and as a Battery Fire Direction Officer.  In March 2002 he took Battery Command at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma.  In 2004, after two years of successful command he was selected to lead a company at West Point, as the Tactical Officer of Company A1.  Major Campbell completed his third year as a Tactical Officer on May 31, 2008.  Major Campbell is a graduate of the F.A. Officer Basic and Advance courses, the Combined Arms Services and Staff School.  His awards include:  the Meritorious Service medal with oak leaf cluster, Army Achievement Medal with oak leaf cluster, National Defense Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.








SFC Scott E. Kibler

National Guard Recruiter

SFC Scott E. Kibler is a native of Portland, Oregon. He has 26 years of combined service in the Active Army and National Guard.  He has held positions as Mortar Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, Drill Sergeant and Sergeant Major Mentor to the Afghan National Army.  His Military Education includes the Primary, Basic and Advanced Non-Commissioned Officers courses.   SFC Kibler’s awards and decorations include the Expert Infantryman’s Badge, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Basic Airborne Wings, ARNG Master Recruiting Badge, Army Gold Recruiting Badge, Bronze Star, 2 Army Commendation Medals, 5 Army Achievement Medals, 5 Good Conduct Medals.  He is married to Donna Kibler of Portland, Oregon and has two children.

 








LTC (RET) Clark A. Lewis

Human Resources Advisor

Lieutenant Colonel (Ret) Clark A. Lewis began his 30-year military career as an active enlisted soldier in 1977.  In 1982, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Transportation Corps.  In 1983, LTC Lewis graduated from Montana State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Business.  LTC Lewis has served in Mannheim, Germany and in Iraq and Kuwait.  LTC Lewis’ awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (with 3 OLC), Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Reserve Components Overseas Training Ribbon, Kuwait Liberation Medal, Achievement Medal for Civilian Service and the Honorable Order of Saint Christopher Medal.  LTC Lewis is married to the former Michelle Bourcier of Great Falls, Montana.  They have two children, Jessica Janssen, 28 and Matthew, 21. 

 








Stacey Welsher

Human Resources Advisor

Stacey Welsher is a native of Great Falls, Montana, graduating from C.M. Russell High School in 1989. She attended the University of Great Falls, Montana State University, and the University of Montana before moving from the area to College Station, Texas in 1998. She has an AAS degree from May Technical College in Paralegal Studies, a Bachelor of Science (Summa Cum Laude honors) degree in Legal Studies from Belford/Kaplan University as well as an Master of Business Administration (Magna Cum Laude honors) in Human Resource Development and Management. She has two children and currently resides in the Ogden, Utah area.  Prior to being assigned to Weber State University, Stacey was assigned to Texas A&M University, College Station. She's also worked for the Texas Forest Service, the Lewis and Clark National Forest, and Starbucks Coffee Company as a Coffee and Tea Master.

 








Georgia Gilbert

University Secretary

Georgia Gilbert, a native of Nebraska, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude in English from Benedictine College, Atchison, Kansas. She took courses leading to certification in secondary education at Weber State University before joining the Utah staff of former US Senator Jake Garn.  Georgia has also worked as a staff writer for the Standard-Examiner and the Davis News Journal, as an administrative assistant at Westminster College and staff assistant for the Utah State University graduate studies program. Georgia resided in Utah for 23 years before moving to New Hampshire, returning to Utah in 2002. She was employed at St. Joseph High School in Ogden before joining the Military Science department at WSU in 2006. Georgia is the mother of four sons, Derek, Paul, Ryan and Josh.
