Cadets negotiate an obstacle at the Leadership Reaction Course
Each Fall semester the Thunder Warrior Battalion cadets are provided the opportunity to negotiate a number of physical and mental challenges at the Leadership Reaction Course at Fort Huachuca, Arizona. The cadet must construct a bridge with limited materials and move all personnel and equipment to the far side of the water obstacle.

“As a freshman in the ROTC program at UTEP, I have learned many success building techniques that will be useful in my future. During the Fall field exercise I realized the value of commitment, teamwork, discipline, dedication and perseverance. My favorite part of the whole experience was the Leadership Reaction Course (LRC) in which each squad was put into different problem solving situations. I know that without the direction from a leader and the dedication from the whole squad, we wouldn’t be able to complete each task successfully.”
