Cadet Michael Eads
Cadet Battalion Commander
CDT Eads graduated from Durant High School in Plant City, Florida in 2002, and during his junior year in 2001 he enlisted into the delayed entry program with the Florida Army National Guard. As an MLRS artilleryman, he has held every position from crew member to Platoon Sergeant. He served in Iraq from 2005-2006 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Upon returning to the US, he finished his associate’s degree and then enrolled in the Army ROTC program at the University of South Florida majoring in Criminal Justice. As a Staff Sergeant he completed all NCOES courses through phase II of BNCOC. He has also completed the Air Assault and Basic Airborne courses. He has been awarded the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal with oak leaf cluster, Good Conduct Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal and Florida Commendation Medal among others. CDT Eads was awarded the Sinclair L. Melner Award at the Leadership Development Assessment Course in 2011. He branched active duty Armor and hopes to be stationed at Fort Carson, CO with his wife Lisa and three children.

Cadet Maria Santana
Cadet Battalion Executive Officer
CDT Santana was born and raised in Hudson, FL and is a single mother of two beautiful children. In 2006, she returned to school and received her first Associates in Arts Degree from St. Petersburg College in Tarpon Springs, Florida in May 2010. She is currently attending the University of South Florida, where she joined the Army ROTC program in the spring of 2010. In May 2012, CDT Santana will graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Russian and with two Minors: Criminology and Military Science. She is ranked in the top 10% of the national ROTC OML and will receive the honor of Distinguished Military Graduate upon her active duty commission into the United States Army. She will begin the Military Police Basic Officer Leaders Course (MPBOLC) at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO, in July 2012. Upon the completion of MPBOLC, CDT Santana will be assigned to the 18th Military Police Brigade in Sembach, Germany, where she will start her military career as a Military Police Officer.

Cadet Michael Sardiñas
Cadet Command Sergeant Major
CDT Sardiñas was born and raised in Tampa, FL. In May of 2008, he graduated from Alonso High School and joined ROTC at USF in August of that year with a 4-year Army ROTC scholarship. CDT Sardiñas received his Associates Degree in Liberal Arts with an emphasis in Criminology from the Hillsborough Community College in May of 2010. He is currently at the University of South Florida Tampa campus obtaining his degree in Criminology and will be graduating in May of 2012. CDT Sardiñas will receive his active duty commission in the Infantry branch and begins Infantry Basic Officer Leaders Course at Fort Benning, Georgia on the 20thof May, 2012. CDT Sardiñas has earned the Airborne and Air Assault badges.

Cadet Shawn Lunghi
Cadet Battalion S3
CDT Lunghi was born July 4th 1987 at Torrejon Air Force Base. He graduated from Robinson High School in Tampa, FL in 2005. He briefly attended Hillsborough Community College Before transferring to The University of South Florida and joining the Army ROTC program. Cadet Lunghi received a Guaranteed Reserve Force Duty Scholarship, currently holds a 3.7 GPA and is majoring in Criminal Justice. CDT Lunghi branched Field Artillery and currently serves with C Btry, 3-116 FA out of Plant City. After graduating, he hopes to pursue a career as a Law Enforcement Deputy in the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. He and his fiancé Suzanne Fahrow currently live in Tampa FL, with their beautiful dog Aurora.

Cadet Tabitha Sassor
Cadet JMLC Laiason
CDT Sassor was born in Tampa, Florida, and is married to her amazing husband Tom with four children. She enlisted in the Army in March 2008, completing Basic Combat training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. Upon completion, she attended Advanced Individual Training in Pensacola, FL to earn the Military Occupations Specialty of 35S, Signals Collector/Analyst. She was first assigned in San Antonio, TX with the 717th Military Intelligence Battalion. While assigned to the 717th she was the Training Coordinator for the Signals Development Center where she coordinated and planned all training for over 40 Joint Military personal and DOD civilians. She was selected as Soldier of the Quarter at Battalion, Brigade and United States Army South (USARSO) levels. She was also selected as the Non-Commissioned Officer of the year for the 470th MI Brigade. After being promoted to the rank of Sergeant (E5), she applied for the Green to Gold commissioning program. Upon selection, she was reassigned to the Suncoast Battalion, University of South Florida, 6th Brigade ROTC. CDT Sassor will be branching Active Duty Signal Corps upon commissioning. Her previous awards include Army Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, and Army Achievement Medal (3).
