LTC Wilson
Professor of Military Science
Lieutenant Colonel Wilson yields from Wexford, Pennsylvania. She was commissioned in the Quartermaster Corps in May 1987 as Distinguished Military Graduate from the Reserve Officers Training Corps program at the University of Tampa in Florida. LTC Wilson received a Masters in Public Administration from Troy State University in 1996.
LTC Wilson served in company grade officer positions with the 6th Infantry Division (Light) in Fort Wainwright Alaska, filling the positions of Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer, Battalion S1 and Battalion S4. She later served in key staff positions on the G4 staff of Headquarters Eighth US Army and J4 staff of Headquarters United States Forces Korea (USFK) in Seoul Korea. As a field grade officer, LTC Wilson served as the Mobilization Planner and Operations Officer for the Regional Readiness Command in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania. She was appointed the Officer in Charge of the Emergency Operations Center after 9/11 for Operation Noble Eagle and recently returned from a one year tour in Iraq with the 316th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) (ESC) in the G3 as a Force Generation Planner. The 316th ESC was the first logistics unit of its kind to deploy in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, returning home in July 2008.
LTC Wilson's military education includes the US Army Quartermaster Officer Basic Course, the US Army Quartermaster Officer Advance Course, the Combined Arms and Services Staff School, the Command and General Staff College and the Defense Strategy Course at the US Army War College.
LTC Wilson's awards and decorations include the Bronze Star, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Armed Forces Reserve Medal with M device, the Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Iraqi Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terror Service Medal, the Overseas Service Ribbon, the Overseas Training Ribbon and the German Army Efficiency Badge – Silver Award.

MAJ Kennedy
Battalion Executive Officer
Major Troy Kennedy is a native of Cranston, Rhode Island. He graduated from David Prouty High School, Spencer, Massachusetts and entered active duty as an enlisted Soldier in June 1985. Troy earned the MOS of Heavy Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic and reported to Pershing II Medium Range Nuclear Weapons in Neu Ulm, West Germany during the height of the Cold War with the Soviet Union. He served with the Pershing II Field Artillery unit for two years before being reassigned to the 5th Infantry Division Mechanized, Fort Polk LA.
MAJ Kennedy completed his 4-year tour of active duty enlisted service, transitioned to the Massachusetts Army National Guard and enrolled in Worcester State College resulting in an Army ROTC commission through Worcester Polytechnic Institute ROTC in May 1995 with a Bachelors of Science in Sociology. He returned to active duty service at Ft Polk, Louisiana as a Second Lieutenant Ordnance Officer and was assigned to the 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment.
MAJ Kennedy served in numerous company grade officer positions while assigned to the 2nd ACR to include Automotive Platoon Leader, Maintenance Support Team Platoon Leader, Maintenance Troop Executive Officer and Detachment Troop Commander.
He has since served as the Assistant G2 13th Corps Support Command, Commander HHC 4th Corps Material Management Center, Assistant S4 2/78th Division, Ordnance Team Chief 3-310th Training Support Battalion, Executive Officer 3-356th Logistics Support Battalion 91st Division, Career Management Officer HRC-St Louis MO and Installation Commander US Army Reserve Forces American Samoa.
MAJ Kennedy’s military education includes the Heavy Wheeled Vehicle Mechanics Course, Ordnance Officer Basic Course, Battalion Maintenance Officer Course, Combined Arms and Services Staff School, Observer/Controller-Trainer Course, Officer Career Managers Course, Nuclear Biological Chemical Defense Course and the Force Protection/Anti-Terrorism Level II Course.
MAJ Kennedy’s awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal 4-OLC, Army Achievement Medal-2, National Defense Service Medal–2, Armed Forces Reserve Medal w/ Bronze Hour Glass and M Device–2, Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal–2, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal–2, Army Good Conduct Medal–1, Army Superior Unit Award-1, USAR Component Overseas Training Ribbon–1, Army Overseas Service Ribbon–1 and the Army Service Ribbon.

CPT Soares
Enrollment and Scholarship Officer
Captain Soares is a native of Waverly, New York. She is a graduate of the Florida Institute of Technology where she received her Baccalaureate degree in Biology. CPT Soares was commissioned in 2000 through ROTC into the Transportation Corps. Her assignments include duties as Platoon Leader 119th CTC, 11th Trans BN, Executive Officer 368th CTC, 11th Trans BN, Executive Officer 159th POCC, 11th Trans BN, and Battalion Adjutant, 11th Trans BN, 7th Trans GRP, Fort Story, Virginia. She is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom I.
CPT Soares’ awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal (2 awards), National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.
CPT Soares is married. Her husband is from East Freetown, MA.

CPT Anselm T. W. Richards
Operations Officer
CPT Anselm T. W. Richards was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on 21 April 1970. Having been reared in Philadelphia and graduated from Saint Joseph’s Preparatory School, he attended Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island, from which he was graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, a double major in History and Philosophy. While in college, he was a member of the Varsity Baseball and Sailing Teams.
In 2000, CPT Richards enlisted in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, A Troop, 1/104th Cavalry, as a 19 D (Cavalry Scout) and attended OSUT Training at Ft. Knox, Kentucky. At that time he was also elected to membership in the First Troop Philadelphia City Cavalry, the oldest military unit in continuous service in the United States. In 2002, he entered Officer Candidate School at Ft. Indian Town Gap and was commissioned from the first accelerated class, 43a, in August 2002. CPT Richards then attended The Armor Officer Basic Course at Ft. Knox and was graduated in September of 2003. Upon return from The Armor Officer Basic Course he served as a tank platoon leader in A Troop, 1/104th Cavalry.
In January of 2005, CPT Richards was deployed with B Troop, 1/104th Cavalry to Ar Ramadi, Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom IV. He was an Armored Platoon Leader in Ar Ramadi, leading a platoon comprised of twenty seven soldiers, four HMMWVs and two M1A1 Tanks in combat operations in the Ar Ramadi province of Iraq. He returned from his tour in Iraq on 10 June 2006 to Philadelphia and served as Executive Officer for A TRP, 1/104th Cavalry. On 5 February 2007, CPT Richards was made Commander of A TRP 1/104th Cavalry and Captain of the First City Troop.
CPT Richards deployed to the Sinai Peninsula, Egypt, commanding A TRP 1-104th Cavalry as part of Multinational Force and Observers 51 upholding the Camp David Peace Accords.
CPT Richards has been awarded the Bronze Star, The Army Commendation Medal with Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster, The National Defense Service Medal, The Iraq Campaign Medal, The Global War on Terrorism Medal, The Army Service Ribbon, The Overseas Service Ribbon, The Armed Forces Reserve medal with “M” Device, The Multinational Force and Observer Medal and the Combat Action Badge.
CPT Richards, his wife, Caroline and their daughter, Hannah, resides in Newport Rhode Island.

Ms. Lachapelle
Cadet Administrator
Ms. LaChapelle is a native of Rhode Island. She has been working for the Department of Military Science for 10 years. Her responsibilities encompass all issues dealing with Cadet administrative processing and paperwork. She has also become the heart and soul of the battalion as she strives to help each cadet on their way to commissioning and beyond. Generally, if any cadet has a problem or needs help Joanne is the first person they go to, whether it be pay problems, issues with the University, advice regarding school or their military career options, and how to go about making it happen.

Mr. Martin
Supply Technician
CSM (Ret) Martin was born in Conway, South Carolina and served in the U.S. Army from January 1972 until February 2000.
His military education included the Basic Leadership Course, Infantry Mortar Platoon Course (IMPOC), Drill Sergeant School, NBC Enlisted Course, Human Resources Management Course, School of Cadet Command, and Safety Office Course. He was on the Commandant’s List at both the Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course and the Advance Noncommissioned Officer Course. He was a graduate of the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy, Class 42.

Ms. Dorothy Cabral
Human Resource/Logistics Technician
Ms. Cabral is a native of Fall River, MA. She is a graduate of Providence College where she received a Baccalaureate degree in Liberal Studies. Ms. Cabral served as a Department of the Army civilian assigned to the Department of Military Science at Providence College from March 1979 until her promotion to the 1Bde Headquarters at Fort Devens, MA, where she served as the Logistics Management Specialist from April 2007 until retiring in February 2008.
In February 2008 Ms. Cabral became the Human Resource/Logistics Technician at Roger Williams University Department of Military Science thus becoming the first full time cadre member at the Roger Williams ROTC office.
Ms. Cabral’s awards include the Chief of Staff Army Supply Excellence Award, the Commander’s Award, Achievement Medal for Civilian Service, and the Superior Civilian Service Award .
Her hobbies include spending time with her pets, bicycling and kayaking.
