About The Battalion

Teaching The Leaders Of Tomorrow

The Saluki Battalion currently has approximately seventy cadets….

The Saluki Battalion currently has approximately seventy cadets in a wide variety of majors.  We also have a couple graduate level cadets studying to earn advanced degrees in business and law.  If studies are not enough, there are always plenty of extra-curricular activities going on within the Battalion.  The Saluki Battalion will field a team for both the Bataan Death March and the Southern Illinois annual River to River Race during the upcoming semester.

Freshman and sophomore cadets spend much of their time learning the basic skills of soldiering.  This is done through class and from junior and senior cadets during lab.  Junior and Senior cadets plan and lead their own leadership laboratories and field training exercises with minimal guidance from Cadre.
