Teaching The Leaders Of Tomorrow
Here at the Wolfpack Battalion our mission is to commission future officers
of the US Army and motivate young people to be better citizens.

Battalion History
The Army ROTC program was established at North Carolina State University in
June 1916 making it compulsory for physically qualified male students to take
two years of Military Science. Effective with the academic year of 1965,
the program was changed making the complete course voluntary. The next
change to the program was in 1973-1974 when women were allowed to participate
in Army ROTC for the first time.
North Carolina State University’s Army ROTC program is notorious for
producing great leaders. From the Father of the Airborne, Major General
William C. Lee, to the current Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General
Hugh Shelton, our battalion has a long and proud history of producing leaders
who have selflessly dedicated their lives to defending our country.
