Lieutenant Colonel Steven M. Carroll

Professor or Military Science

Lieutenant Colonel Steven M. Carroll was born and raised in various cities and towns in California.  He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from California Polytechnic State University in 1993.  He graduated Summa Cum Laude and was an ROTC Distinguished Military Graduate.  In 2002, he graduated with Distinction when he earned an MS in Management (Economics) from the Naval Postgraduate School.








MSG Anthony W. Gast

Senior Military Instructor

1SG Anthony W. Gast was born in Fort Bliss Texas.  He is currently working on finishing his degree from Central Texas College.

1SG Gast’s recent duties include being in the Headquarters Troop and Cavalry Troop 1SG at Fort Hood, TX and deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2006 to 2009.  He was the Senior Combat Developer for the Armor Center at Fort Knox, KY from 2004 to 2006. He was a tank Platoon Sergeant at Fort Carson, CO from 99 to 2004, and deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom.

1SG Gast was a Distinguished Honor Graduate from the Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Course, an Honor Graduate from the Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course, and on the Commandants List for Primary Leadership Development Course.








Major Daniel S. Wall

Recruiting Operations Officer/XO

Major Daniel S. Wall is a native of Murray, Kentucky.  He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Murray State University, Murray, Kentucky.

Major Wall enlisted in the Kentucky Army National Guard in 1986.  During his National Guard service, he deployed with the 438th Military Police Co. to OPERATION DESERT STORM.  He entered active duty in 1993, and served in a variety of logistical assignments, including deployment with the 3rd Battalion, 325th Infantry (Airborne Battalion Combat Team), Vicenza Italy, to Bosnia in December of 1995, during OPERATION JOINT ENDEAVOR.








Captain Mark Denis

Operations Officer

Captain Mark D. Denis grew up in Sykesville, Maryland.  He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Western Maryland College.

CPT Denis’ was assigned to Dragon Company, 1st Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, As a Tank Platoon Leader and deployed in 2005-2006 from Fort Carson, CO in support of OIF III.  He served as the Interim Company Command in order to facilitate moving Dragon Company from Fort Carson, CO to Fort Hood, TX in 2006.  He was the Executive Officer responsible for M1A2SEPv2 tanks’ fielding and issue for Dragon Company in 2006 and 2007.  He deployed from Fort Riley, KS as the Executive Officer/HSC Advisor to 3 separate Iraqi Army Battalions while serving on Military Transition Team 0931 in support of OIF in 2008-2009.

Military History Instructor, Army National Guard Liaison

SFC Michael Hackworth is a native of Kentucky.  He is a graduate of Towson University with a degree in education. He recently graduated from the Military History Instructor Course at the Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, KS.








Mr. Thomas Alexander

Human Resources Technician

Mr. Alexander’s military education includes, the Standard Installation Division Personnel System Course, the Primary Leadership Course, and the Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course.

Mr. Lemar Williams

Supply Technician

Mr. Williams is the Supply Tech (PBO) for this Battalion; he has been at Loyola since November 1988. He entered the DOD civil service in 1984 after four years active duty as Unit Supply Specialist. Mr. Williams came to Loyola from Ft. Meade DOC, where he worked in the small purchase section. Mr. Williams has a wife and four sons.
