| Cadet Commander’s Corner ~ by C/LTC George Johnson III |
| What stimulates you to wake up each and every day at the crack of dawn to conduct physical fitness, attend leadership lab, and other military class lectures? What inspires you to give up your weekends to participate in community service events and to engage in field training exercises? And most importantly, what heartens you to carry a greater course load than any other student on campus? I ask you, MIGHTY BISON BATTALION, what is your motivation for being a Cadet in this program? At this point in time, it is evident that many of you have become acclimated to the collegiate lifestyle and have seen what it takes to become an officer that the United States Army can be proud of. Personally, I am extremely proud of the efforts of the S-3 shop, who did a phenomenal job coordinating one of the most successful field training exercises that I have seen since I’ve arrived in the Mecca. Additionally, I would like to extend a mighty gesture of gratitude to the S-5 shop for coordinating the largest and most successful military ball to date. It is because of Cadets like C/MAJ Cobb and C/CPT Montgomery that our battalion has reached an entirely new level of success. With the recent retirement of one of the greatest NCOs that this nation has to offer, we are reminded that although no one is perfect, we can all strive to come close. I personally would like to congratulate MSG (Ret.) Zaifuddin Graves and his family for their 25 years of selfless service to this country. Your legacy will not be forgotten. As Spring Break slithers amongst us, let us not forget to remain focused, while keeping our goals in mind. Over the course of this break, please ask yourself the aforementioned question, “What motivates you to be a Cadet in this program?” And as you search your soul for the answer, always remember that the best is yet to come. |
