LTC Paige McCormick
Professor of Military Science
LTC Paige McCormick is a 19 year veteran of the U.S. Army. She entered service in January 1987 as a Private First Class (PFC) through the U.S. Army Reserve (USAR) Program. In May 1990, she earned her commission into the Corps of Engineers from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga’s Army ROTC program. LTC McCormick’s Regular Army (RA) and Active Guard Reserve (AGR) assignments include: Maintenance Officer (Combat Heavy), Construction Engineer Platoon Leader (Combat Heavy), Battalion Supply Officer (S-4), Assistant Secretary General Staff (25th Infantry Division), Company Commander (Mechanized), Environmental Staff Officer, Recruiting Operations Officer, and as the Sustainable Range Program Manager (USARC). Her deployments while serving in the previous positions include: Humanitarian support of Hurricane Andrew, Pohakuloa Training Area, Baker Leader Mission support in Laos for POW/MIA Missions, Cobra Gold Joint/Combined Exercises in Thailand, National Training Center, and U.S. Pentathlon Team Member. LTC McCormick earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering from University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and a Master’s of Science degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla. Among, some of her military education accomplishments, she is a graduate of the Combined Arms Service Staff School and the Command and General Staff College. She is airborne and air assault qualified.

MAJ Robert Walker
Assistant Professor of Military Science
MAJ Walker runs the Clayton State Company of the Panther Battalion. His primary duties include instructing the MSIIIs and development of all upperclassmen Cadets into future officers.

CPT Maurice Middleton
Assistant Professor of Military Science
CPT Middleton is an Army Reserve Military Intelligence Officer. He served with the 3rd Infantry Division as a Tank Platoon Leader in Iraq in 2003 and has recently returned from a tour in Afghanistan in March of 2008.

CPT Jaime Bates
Recruiting Operations Officer
CPT Bates was commissioned as a Chemical Officer branch detailed Adjutant General in May 2001 from Morgan State University with a BS in psychology. CPT Bates’ assignments included Battalion Chemical Officer, Fox Reconnaissance Platoon Leader, Chief of Officer Management, and Civil Affairs Team Leader. She deployed to Iraq from March 2003-2004 and Afghanistan from March 2007-2008. Her military education includes the Chemical Officer Basic Course and Civil Affairs school.

CPT Nathan Devoe
Assistant Professor of Military Science
CPT Devoe is responsible for standing up the offices at Morehouse College, which also serve as the hub for Clark Atlanta and Spellman. The training and instruction of Cadets at these three sister schools falls under CPT Devoe’s responsibility.

MSG Mickey Ross
Senior Military Instructor
Master Sergeant Ross is the senior Non-Commissioned Officer of the Georgia State University AROTC program. He entered the Army in July of 1989. He has served with LRSD in Hawaii; as a squad leader in the 3rd Ranger BN; Ranger Instructor in the 5th RTB in Dahlonega, GA; as a PSG in the 82nd Infantry Division (Airborne); as a DA at Ranger Summits; 1SG B 2/325; 1SG HHC 2/325; and 1SG C 2/325. MSG Ross is ranger and jump master qualified as well as having a combat infantryman’s badge.

SFC Curtis Ricks
Military Instructor
SFC Ricks works with MAJ Walker at Clayton State University teaching the MSIs and IIs the fundamentals of what it means to be a soldier. SFC Ricks is responsible for overseeing PT sessions and other day-to-day operations at the Clayton campus.

SFC Lori Hoover
Military Instructor
SFC Hoover works to develop younger cadets at the Morehouse offices. SFC Hoover has been deployed as a combat medic and brings medical expertise and enthusiasm to the associated offices.

Mr. Charles Washington Jr.
Supply Technician
Master Sergeant (Retired) Charles Washington Jr. served over 20 years in the US Army in the logistics field. Overseas assignments include Hawaii, Germany, and two tours in Korea. He has a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from Columbia College.

Mrs. Tina West
Human Resources
Mrs. West spent 12 years on active duty, separating as a Sergeant First Class. Last assignment at Ft. Leonard Wood as a Drill Sergeant with Alpha Co., 2/10 Infantry. Mrs. West has been working at GSU Army ROTC since 2005.

Ms. Deborah Williams
Human Resources
Ms. Williams is a 20 year veteran of the U.S. Army. Her last duty assignment - Asst Inspector General, HQs Third US Army, Ft McPherson, GA. Ms Williams has been working at GSU Army ROTC since 2008.
