Leadership And Excellence

About The Battalion

Teaching The Leaders Of Tomorrow

Since 1940, the ROTC program at EKU has produced over 2,100 Second Lieutants for duty in the active Army, Army national Guard, and the U.S. Army reserve. Today, the “Colonels Battalion” stands for leadership excellence and continues its long tradition of being one of the best ROTC programs in the nation.

Battalion History

Military training was first introduced to the old “Central University” now known as Eastern Kentucky in Richmond Kentucky in 1892.

Faculty and Staff

The Colonel’s pride has the most professional group of Cadre and civilian employees assembled in one location. The officers and NCO’s come from a lot of different backgrounds but one thing we all have in common is the professionalism and the warrior ethos’s.

Cadet Profiles

Cadets are challenged both physically and mentally on a daily basis here in the Colonels Battalion.

Alumni Profiles

The Alumni is important to both the heritage and traditions of the ROTC program for both the Cadets, students and Cadre. The insight, commitment and sacrifice they have made is over the years is an inspiration to use all.
