LTC Troy Krings
Professor of Military Science
Lieutenant Colonel Troy D. Krings enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserves in 1986. Following basic training at Fort Knox, Kentucky he joined the ROTC Simultaneous Membership Program and attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in 1988 as a Distinguished Military Graduate. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from UNO and a Master of Arts in Management from Webster University.
After completing the Initial Entry Rotary Wing Course he attended the Special Electronic Mission Aircraft Course and was assigned to 4th Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment as the EH-60 Platoon Leader. He deployed with the Regiment for Operation Desert Shield/Storm and later served as the XO for HHT.
Following the Aviation Advance Course he was assigned to 4-123rd Aviation Regiment, Fort Wainwright, Alaska where he served as an Assistant S3, S3, S4 and then commanded A Company. After command he was assigned to an AC/RC position as the Operations Officer for the 1st OCS Battalion in Salina, Kansas. In 2000 he was assigned to the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) at Fort Campbell, Kentucky and served as the S4 for the 101st Aviation Brigade (Attack) and as the S3 for 6th Battalion, 101st Aviation Regiment.
Following completion of the Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, he was assigned to 1st Armored Division as the S3 for 2nd Battalion, 501st Aviation Regiment in Hanau, Germany. Following their return from OIF 1 he served as the XO the following year. LTC Krings was then assigned to V Corps and for the past two years has served as the V Corps G3 Future Operations OIC; deploying with V Corps while they served as the Multi National Corps – Iraq.
Following redeployment with V Corps, LTC Krings assumed command of 1-214th Aviation Regiment, U.S. Army Europe’s General Support Aviation Battalion.
LTC Krings’ awards include the Bronze Star Medal (1OLC), the Meritorious Service Medal (2OLC), Air Medal (1OLC), Army Commendation Medal (3 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (1OLC) and the Air Assault Badge. He is a Senior Army Aviator rated in the UH-60.
LTC Krings’ wife Pamela is from El Paso, Texas. They have been married 18 years and have two daughters, Kayla and Alyssa.

MAJ John Bourke
Executive Officer / MS I Instructor
Major John E. Bourke grew up in West Springfield, MA. He enlisted in the Air National Guard in 1980 as an Aircraft Electrical Systems Specialist. He entered the Active Air Force in 1982 and spent 4 years on active duty.
From 1986 until 1990 he served as an enlisted member in the Air Force Reserves and the Army Reserves from 1990 to 1992. After graduating from Officer Candidate School in 1992 he commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the USAR and was assigned as a Platoon Leader in Maintenance Company in Wabasha, MN. He attended the Officer Basic Course in 1993 and branched into the Ordnance Corps. In 1995 he transferred to a Military Police Company in Rochester, MN where he served as a Platoon Leader and subsequently as the Company Commander during their deployment to Germany in 1999.
After he returned from Germany he attended the Military Police Captains Career Course and was assessed into the Active Guard Reserve program as a Military Police Officer. His first assignment was at Truman State University in Army ROTC where he served as an Assistant Professor of Military Science Executive Officer. His next assignment was with the 561st Corps Support Group in Omaha, NE as the Rear Operations Officer. He deployed to Kuwait with a Transportation Battalion from Kansas as the Headquarters Company Commander and Administrative Officer.
In 1996, Major Bourke transferred to the 103d Expeditionary Sustainment Command in Des Moines, IA. He served as the Area Security / Force Protection Officer for the command. His current assignment is with Creighton Army ROTC as the Battalion Executive Officer.
Major Bourke holds a Bachelors Degree in Liberal Studies from Metropolitan State University in Minnesota and a Master of Liberal Studies from Fort Hays State University in Kansas.
Major Bourke is married and has one daughter.

CPT John A. Regan
S-3
Captain John A. Regan grew up in Shenandoah, IA. He enlisted in the Iowa Army National Guard in June 1989 and served as an Infantry with B Company, 1st Battalion, 168th Infantry. Upon graduation of high school in 1990, CPT Regan transferred to Active Duty. As an Enlisted Solder, CPT Regan has held every Infantry position from Rifleman to Platoon Sergeant. He has served with 7th Battalion, 6th Infantry at Bamberg, Germany, 2nd Battalion, 12th Infantry at Fort. Carson, Colorado, 2nd Battalion, 2nd Infantry at Vilseck, Germany, 1st Battalion, 16th Infantry at Fort Riley, Kansas and 1st Battalion, 50th Infantry, Infantry Training Brigade at Fort Benning, Georgia. During this time, he had participated in Operation Desert Shield/Storm and Operation Able Sentry (Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia).
In 2001, CPT Regan attended the University of Nebraska-Omaha. While in college, he was a member of the Creighton Army ROTC Program and served in the Nebraska Army National Guard as a Scout Platoon Leader with B Troop, 167th Cavalry.
Captain Regan graduated and was commissioned in 2003 as an Armor Officer, branch detailed from Military Intelligence. His first assignment was to Fort Riley, Kansas where he served with C Company, 2nd Battalion, 70th Armor, Task Force 1-41 Infantry, as a Tank Platoon Leader and Company Executive Officer. CPT Regan transitioned to Military Intelligence and next assigned to the Iraq Assistance Group, as an Intelligence Adviser to the 3rd Battalion, 1st Mechanized Brigade of the Iraqi National Police in Baghdad, Iraq. During this time, he had participated in two tours in Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Captain Regan’s professional education includes: 11B (Infantryman) Course, Airborne School, Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officers Course, Bradley Fighting Vehicle Course, Drill Sergeant Course, Master Fitness Trainer Course, Air Load Planners and Movement Course, Armor Officer Basic Course, Military Intelligence Officer Tactician Course, Military Intelligence Captain’s Career Course, and Military Advisor’s Course.
Captain Regan’s current assignment is with the Western Region, 11th Brigade ROTC, where he serves as the Training and Operations Officer for the ROTC Department at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska.
Captain Regan is married and has two daughters.
