Teaching The Leaders Of Tomorrow
The Titan Battalion is a 2005 recipient of the General Douglas MacArthur
award for being the Top Bn in the small school division in all of the
Western Region-US Army Cadet Command. The GDMA award is given to Army ROTC
units that excel in recruiting, retention, training, Cadet performance and
commissioning rates.
California State University Fullerton is proud to have Army ROTC on
campus. Together, the university and the ROTC "Titan Battalion" are
responsible for providing the quality officer leadership needed to lead the
Army into the next century.
Army ROTC is a college elective course you can take that could give
you a real advantage when combined with your college education and diploma.
It's a course that not only teaches you the principles of management, but also
gives you the opportunity to lead. It's a course that tells future employers
that you've had real-life experience handling people and solving problems….that
you are goal orientated…..and that you've been trained to work with a team, and
to lead a team.
You'll learn skills you would expect to find in an Army officer
including how to motivate co-workers, cope with the unexpected, and organize
large, complex tasks. But you'll also learn skills in demand today in the
civilian and business world such as teamwork, tact, and effective
communication. You'll learn from experience from Army officers and
noncommissioned officers and, in time, help pass on what you've learned to
newer students as well. In other words, you'll learn how to take charge…take
command…and take the lead!
This is your chance to add muscle to your college career. No matter
what your major, ROTC gives you the confidence and experience needed to be a
success in college and beyond.
If you successfully complete the Army ROTC program along with your other
academic studies, you'll graduate with a diploma and a commission as a Second
Lieutenant. That's when you'll begin military service in the U.S. Army.
Wearing the bar of a Second Lieutenant sets you apart. It stands for
intelligence, integrity, courage and the will to succeed. Above all, it
signifies that you're an accomplished leader and an Officer of the United
States Army, an Army of One.
Whether you're leading a group of Soldiers or heading a major corporation
later on, a commissioned Officer of the U.S. Army is an honor. Being an Officer
means you have the skills to succeed and to accomplish any task. Throughout
your life, you'll inspire others, accept challenge and command respect. And
you'll know what it means to be the BEST.
Upon pinning the Goldbars, you may serve full-time on Active Duty, or
you may serve part-time in either the U.S. Army Reserve or the Army National
Guard. In a reserve component, you'll provide critical support to the regular
Army, the most respected and most powerful, ground force in the world. But no
matter which way you serve, service to the nation as a commissioned Officer is
an honor and a privilege.
