Teaching The Leaders Of Tomorrow
The Governors Guard Battalion is not a typical ROTC battalion. Our proximity to Fort Campbell, Kentucky (20 minutes) means that we have some exceptional training opportunities available to us. These opportunities include the use of multi-million dollar simulation facilities, hands-on training with helicopters and other Army equipment, and Army Air Assault School. Additionally, about one third of our cadets are former soldiers from Fort Campbell who bring a wealth of prior service knowledge and experience to the classroom and labs.
Here, you will learn to be an officer and a leader. Being an officer in the US Army means you are a strategist, a motivator, and a counselor. As an officer, you will lead Soldiers in all situations and adapt to constantly changing environments. You will be trained and driven to achieve success with your team on every mission.

Battalion History
Army ROTC has been a tradition at Austin Peay State University since 1971.

Faculty and Staff
The Army ROTC program is only as strong as its instructors. We have a highly qualified and motivated group of Officers, Non-Commissioned Officers, and Civilians (all with recent and relevant Army experience) who care about the development and success of our Cadets.

Alumni Profiles
The significant number of very successful men and women who began their careers as ROTC graduates stand as a testament to both a) the quality of the people ROTC draws and b) the quality of the program.
